Silversea Cruises returned to global operations on Friday with the maiden voyage of its new flagship, Silver Moon, from Athens (Piraeus). The launch of Silver Moon also represents the unveiling of S.A.L.T., the cruise line’s new culinary program. The inaugural sailing of Silversea’s new expedition vessel, Silver Origin, will depart from San Cristobal in the Galapagos on Saturday, June 19. Silversea’s first destination-specific ship will sail with all-new itineraries in the archipelago.

Sailing out of Athens (Piraeus), Silver Moon will follow 10-day itineraries in the Greek Isles with a nearly 1-to-1 crew-to-guest ratio. The ship will stop in Limassol Cyprus; Rhodes, Amorgos, Agios Nikolaos and Souda Bay (both in Crete), Naplion and Santorini, Greece. Silversea’s “pioneering” culinary program Sea and Land Taste, or S.A.L.T, offers guests a sample of authentic cultures and traditions of each visited region.

Silver Origin welcomes travelers to the Galapagos islands with year-round, ultra-luxury expeditionary voyages, offering balcony-only suites and a number of Zodiacs. The seven-day round-trip sailing from San Cristóbal will be fast-paced with 15 different stops. Guests will be able to spot such wildlife as blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies and frigatebirds, along with sea lions and tortoises as they explore the volcanic islands.

Building on Silversea’s global return to service, Silver Muse will set sail to Alaska from July 29, while Silver Shadow will sail circumnavigations of Iceland starting July 30.

Silversea notes that all itineraries are subject to change based on a variety of external factors.
